I would like to purchase some resin in bulk to get it cheaper. My concren is how to get it into my mixing containers, I can’t pour it from a 25kg drum so is there a trick that io am missing? Any help would be well appreciated thanks.
You can get taps that screw onto the lid hole (for lack of a better name).
Google “drum tap”
There are also pumps that screw on to the same place. They tend to cost a lot more and some are unsuitable for use with epoxy hardeners
Google “drum pump”
If the drum has a screw lid, you can place the drum on its side, crack open the cap (but DON’T fully open it!) until resin starts to trickle out. Place a cup underneath the cap and roll the drum back and forth to keep the resin flowing. If you’re tight on space, you can mount some castor wheels on a piece of board so that everything stays in one place.
If you’ve got a solid lid then you need to find a different method.
get 1 gallon bottle, place a funnel on the lid hole and pour in it some resin from the drum, that way you will have a more manageable size bottle to use.
Thnaks for the advice, looks like the lid is a push fit with a retaining clamp (here’s a photo).
I guess pouring it into a smaller container is the way forward.
