What is everyone paying for carbon right now. I am able to get 2 x 2 twill 50 inch 5.7 oz for 24.00 per yard plus shipping from mid michigan.the best price i can get for cut yardage right now is $36.00 per yard.
do you have to buy a full roll to get that price? That is the price I have found for full 100yd rolls.

That is a great price! We pay about $32/yard for 5.7 oz twill, and about $40/yard for 8.4oz 4x4.
Best price i’ve found for 2x2 twill 5.7oz is $32 per yard and I gotta buy at least 10 yards to get that price.
I don’t know who weaves sollars CF but its VERY delicate.
The absolute best weave is from BGF (bfg?) Honestly I would pay $10 more per yard for that stuff than most others.

if your looking for BGF carbon you can get from northern fiberglass for much cheaper then $40 a yard, but you need to buy full yards
Is there a way to get pricing on all the products from the Northern Fiberglass website? They seem to carry a lot of great stuff, but not seeing pricing is a turn-off. It’s nice to be able to quickly open a site and reference prices.
And by “full yards” do you mean a whole roll?
oops, meant to say full rolls(100 yards), sometimes they carry short rolls and “seconds”… unfortunately they dont have a very convinent website to pull prices. but you can always give them a call for pricing. out of all the distros I have dealt with over the past 8 years I would easily say they are the best for high quality products, service, and knowledge, and there not assholes which is a plus.
That is exactly why I do not buy from NFG. They should do something about showing their prices online. Let’s see, spend 15 minutes on the phone to find out prices… or 15 minutes in my shop making money.
Anyone that is interested I can get you 3K 6oz plain weave or twill for $30 a yard plus shipping from Pennsylvania. It is the exact same stuff SolarComposites sells but i don’t get it from them. I don’t know the brand name.

I still like how John runs his business at Solar Composites and I still buy from him… we just bought 10 yards of cf from him recently and 5 yards of red hybrid. His hybrid cloth is super nice 3K. His prices on 6K and 12K are very good in my opinion.
Yup, companies like that are really shooting themselves in the foot.
Unless someone carries something specific or hard to find, I’ll buy from the company that is easiest to work with and often times the one with a good website.
Some resins and special fabrics I get from manufacturers, but for general supplies I use US Composites and FiberglassSupply. Both are plain websites, nothing fancy and don’t even have online ordering! But all the prices are shown, and I can put quotes together myself instead of waiting for sales people to get back to me.
