With the temperatures here starting to drop below zero should I be worried about my resins, release agents, etc being affected by the cold?
At the moment everything is in my workshop which is only heated when I’m working.
Water based materials (including release agents) can freeze and go bad
resins usually are less of a problem, although epoxy can crystalise (heating to 60 degrees C will solve that) but also keep in mind that you will be working with cold materials, a 20 kg drum takes 48 hours to heat, a drum can take a week)
Hence my desire to leave the UK and head for the Iberian Peninsula, Portugal has an average winter daytime temperature of 10 deg Celcius, near Lisbon and a bit warmer further south. Not long left here in the UK now, one more winter and counting down the months.
Your resin and flammables should be kept in a flammable liquids storage cabinet to comply with uk hse its easy to insulate and heat a small cabinet or storage room.
