Probably the problem rely on the quality of the bags I’m using.
I started using infusion a few months ago, occasionally.
I make molds out of this process the most, for autoclave use.
Can you suggest me an italian supplier of a quality bag suitable for infusion?
Roberto,
What is the maximum vacuum that your pump can pull? Do you have a vacuum gauge to measure that? It could also be the problem with vacuum pump, bag, mold porosity, sealing tape, and a myriad reasons… you need to look at each and every variable independently and eliminate them in the process of fine tuning your setup.
I use many different bags/films from Airtech. They all depend on the application, the lowest cost bag we use is the big-blue that is a multi-layered polyolefin thermoplastic. There are many who sell Airtech material in Italy, we work with www.aviocommercialesrl.com, who I find to be very reliable, quick and knowledgeable in matters related to aerospace products. You should contact Airtech to know who else sells their stuff here. You need a minimum order quantity. If you use very small amount (like one roll in one year), then you are better-of with smaller suppliers.
Finally it does work out fine. Many thanks for the all the info and composite central.
Thanks again.
Very nice, great shine, what were the reasons that it was not working? Whats the resin you use?
Hi the reason is the vacuum pressure that is not high enough. I did many trial and error. And finally is the pump. I’m not so sure about the resin I bought it locally. But it turn out very shiny.
