I need a car, but a Donkervoort is a bit expensive isn’t it? :stuck_out_tongue:

That should not be YOUR problem, should it? Tell Joop you need a car. It does noy need to be a new one. I guess you could live with this one:

No online ordering, but you can email your order. but I love these guys not just because they are 15 minutes away from me but they will always stop me from buying the wrong thing.
Adtech Epoxy’s, Tooling dough, Duratech products. Pigments and bagging supplies and honeycomb core. both Aramid and polypropylene core. Great core prices and great help.

Chinese made cf is usually pitch. It’s not black it’s a very dark brown color. and usually i can find about every 20 to 50 tows the spacing is uneven so you end up with a visible line in the finished product.

I would never buy from Illstreet again. Out of the dozen things I ordered 5 were out of stock. I had to contact them after two weeks to see what was going on with my order, and then instead of getting what I asked for they sent me what they had. In the end I got it almost a month later and with barely an apology or any kind of incentive for future business. Never again.

Moved to product talk due to content.

I know at least one Chinese factory is using Toray imported from Japan.

That’s an interesting question, aesthetics aside, what are the differences in properties of pitch based to PAN based products? I’ll try to look around and find it, but anyone know off the top of their head?

Different crystalline structure. Fibres made from pitch are stiffer but weaker/more brittle. Fibres made from PAN are stronger but not as stiff (but still plenty stiff enough).

Thanks wedge

Anyone know of local shops in Georgia that sells supplies?

There’s an Aircraft Spruce in Georgia. They have a decent amount of composite supplies at good prices. Their service is also excellent, speaking from my experience with the Corona shop.

The article looks fantastic. I’m posting a PDF here to keep it available.

I used Eastern Burlap in Norfolk VA my first venture into fiberglass. I just revisited their website and their prices seem to be very low. They also have a few of the items a lot of members are looking for that are tough to find elsewhere, flame retardant resins, core cell, etc. All prices in products catalog.
