Soric is my favorite. It all depends on the density you want. Don’t forget to take the infusion resin’s gel time and viscosity into consideration as well. All that needs to be known in order to pick the right foam.
What does the resin’s gel time and viscosity have to with what foam to use? I would think that as long as it fully infuses then it wouldn’t matter.
This is what I used. http://www.fibreglast.com/product/DIVINYMAT_01024_A/Foam
It made for an incredibly stiff part.
I weighed the fabric and the foam. Then I weighed the finished part. I have as much resin by weight in the part as I do foam and fabric. I’m not really complaining. The part is light and very strong. I just want to know what’s the best for the next part.
How do you keep soric from printing through to the surface?
Divinymat has a lot of kerfs, they fill with resin as well.
Airex is launching a new low resin consumption foam at JEC Paris (next week, I will be there). They modified the surface to take less resin, yet still have a good bond.
I will be at the JEC on thuesday, when are you there?
Tuesday and wednesday. I would like to meet. Will send you a PM.
