Recent Opal/Dichroic composite use in guitars

Getting ready to show these at NAMM this year. It is the most visually dynamic, viewer interactive composite in the world. It has the exact same optical physics as Australian Fire Opal.

I first made it in glass in 2000, and it made the top ten list in the famed Material ConneXion library in NYC, did a conference table for MTV with it, but since it was a glass lamination process, my sales were severely limited to the architectural market that hates color, unless it was for a childrens hospital (have done seven so far).

So I spent the last six years trying to perfect an all resin lamination using PET and acrylic (the only two of ten polymers I will disclose) that can be laser cut. Most of my time has been spent trying to get full interlaminar adhesion within the fifteen polymer interfaces. Finally nailed it, and now make full sheets. Lasers great.

Looks amazing!
