I have absolutely not idea how that would work.
No, don’t try this at home spraying water over sprayed pva will dissolve pva and create fish eyes. I just dissolve pva around 8-10% with water in the bottle, shake it and then spray mist coats and a final semi-wet.
The worst part is 2TallJohn should have known that without you having to say it out loud.
There’s a reason you don’t PVA in the rain.
Misting water over PVA comes from the PVA vacuum film, not liquid PVA. This will make the PVA film go soft, and gets it into corners more easily.
Also storing the PVA vacuum film in a humid area will make it go much softer.
When I try to brush on gelcoat, it always “falls” off the surface of the PVA…especially on the vertical flanges. Any tips for brushing on gelcoat?
I ended up buying a gelcoat cup gun and 25 gal compressor thinking I would get much more consistent results.
