it was a lift off with a fiberglass cross brace 7lbs hand laid 3lbs more than he wanted
how many layers was the skin? was it all carbon or fiberglass added?
2 layers of carbon 4in strip carbon around radius 1 layer 1.5 oz glass under frame to to be sure when i glassed the frame in i got good adhesion wich reminds me in the boat factory the race boats were built with kevlar carbon hybird and on one side there was choped matt on it if a guy could find carbon fiber like this it would be much easier to work with out distorting but does it exist also the factory has 8 partial rolls of carbon but it is like 13oz is it to thick to work with?
Where in Indiana are you??? I am from Indianapolis, and if you were close and didnt mind I would like to come take a look at some of your stuff…
hey ben i am south of fort wayne about 2.5 hrs from indy and i am also building a very cool hood for motor sports performance for your gs what kind of work do you do?mine is mostly hand lay fiberglass some carbon fiber and have tried infusion(unsucesfuly) like to share knoledge let me know
You mean this hood???

You were 100% right when you said you were making a hood for MY GS… lol Eric had my car up there since Dec. 28… I must say that I LOVE the hood. MPD does excellent work so if they work with you I am sure that your work has to turn out really well.
As for what I do… I am an Actuary Assistant… Not what you were talking about, I know… I actually am fairly new to composites, I did a little bit over overlaying for my switch panels, turned out so-so. I want to get more involved in it though, but I really dont have the space until my house gets done in the Castleton area (actually in McCordsville). So once my house gets done, I will start getting everything I need to start infusing… So it would be more you sharing information with me since you have 10 times the experience that I have already, maybe if I get good at infusing I can help you figure out why you arent doing so well at it.
Where are you south of Fort Wayne??? My fiance is from the Bluffton/Ossian/Liberty Center area.
YEA!!thats the hood!!!
erick comes up with some awesome designs he dropped of a chevy ssr plug that is verry cool also
hey i know quite a few people from blufton lot of car guys in that town I grew up in decatur live out on the ohio state lin now
When things settle down do you think it might be possible for me to come out and look around sometime??? I would definitely be interested if you were willing to let me.
