I searched and could not find anything. I need just a couple yards of anything that would work as peel ply while I wait for my rolls to show up… Anyone have any suggestions

Try some Scran wrap :rolleyes: or any PE flim from like Home Depot…but do a small test panel first.

Works great! I’ve also done wet layups with CSM and at the very end put some saran wrap down to avoid having to sand the splinters off. The stuff really wrinkles easy though.

I found something!!
It is a silky rayon polyester. Identical to peel ply and works perfectly. I found it on sale locally for $2.95 a yard in 60 inches!!

I found something like that in my garage, my dad used to do silk screen printing on t-shirts and stuff, haven’t used it tho.
I guess you can use almost any kind of cloth that won’t stick…I may have to check out the fabric store’s discount/crap table.
The only thing about using Nylon cloth, it will leave the surface very rough (unlike smooth PE film), but if you are going to add other layers of CF…then it is the best to have a rough surface.
But test and see…

“Uncoated Nylon Taffeta” about $1 a yard from the textile district in L.A… The stuff they line jackets with. Get the white stuff. It can be tough to peel off if you don’t get to it soon. If you can peel it as soon as the part can handle it is best.

Sorry don’t have a shop name. I went there about 4yrs ago and have not used up what I bought so I’ve not been back. I don’t remember the name of the shop. But if you go to the textile district there are plenty of shops to check out.

Yeah but if you buy a good size amount the price is worth the drive over just going to some place like the Joann fabric/sewing stores. Remember to get uncoated.
