how to make it lighter?

Exactly, I expect to hit stuff with the splitter. I actually have some kevlar roving that Im going to run along the leading edge.

Nice, so the Kevlar layer is the outer layer on the bottom, so the lay up starting from bottom is Kevlar, carbon, core, carbon. Correct?

Pretty much. One thing to think about with splitters and lips like this…if you build it too rigid…will it damage the bumper cover before it pulls off or rips away ? Which part is more costly to replace etc.

The one that I am making mounts to the frame and not bumper cover, however there is still chance of ripping the bumper cover off:) I think I am going to sell the one I had made a make a new one with 1/2" core and Kevlar on the bottom. And I was thinking to make a bracket like this one… Any advice on material if I wanted to make it with composites? I was thinking carbon and core for those vertical brackets and hopefully the new splitter will be strong enough that wouldn’t need the horizontal support. any thoughts?

Bryan…are you against using those aluminum turn-buckles that we so often see to control front lip angle ? That alone could remedy some flex worry…just a thought.

Making your vert brackets out of CF and core would be pretty straight forward since your form is not shapely…rather just flat planes. And it would only require one mold form since the parts can be flipped.
