I would think a 3 or 4 piece mold would work well.
- use Aquapour to make a duplicate model of the part, except make the model slightly smaller. The size reduction of the model in correspondence to the thickness of the new laminated part.
Now, buy some sheet wax in the same thickness you want the new part to be⦠say .062" or whatever. Now with precision apply the adhesive backed wax sheet to the aquapour model ( mold )to completely cover the mold. Do a perfect job or youāll be sorry in the end.
next make a flange where the other two or three female molds will part. make your female molds and a flange.
The theory here is a pressure mold. Wrap the weted out carbon fiber around the Aquapour mold nicely with the seam being as perfect as possible. Then use the outside female molds as a compression mold. Clamp the molds together and cure the part.
Now here is the bad part⦠all that time you spent shaping the Aquapourā¦yeah⦠disolve it out of the new part with water.
