has anyone made a heated tool?

So I put together a box from some insulation panels… sealed with silver tape and then used a heat gun as the heat source. I had two tcs inside to tell me temps and it easily got to 200-230F range. I was just running the gun on low to see how well it did. I think I’m going to be hooking up my controller to see how well it can regulate the temp.

From my cheesy little test, I think it should easily work for a 220 or so cure temp.

I postcured a lot in insulated and uninsulated boxes with a heat gun. Works fine. Temperature is controllable within 5 degrees with some simple ventilation control. With a PID controller probably even better.

good to know it worked for you. I just wired up the PID controller last night and I"ll hook it up today when I get home. Id imagine with the controller I should be good to go. I have a few molds to do some test parts with If I’m satisfied with the test run.

Can’t wait cause I have some parts I wanna make
