finished the bike!

actually i examined the original part and it’s about 1/4 thick, looking at the underside i decided to use the original as the mold. it was soo smooth and some mold release/gelcoat should pop out some nice parts. i’m going to be experimenting with it in the next week.

i think by doing that the parts that you make will either be to small or to big. You are going to have to make a mold to get the parts to fit easy (you can always sell parts to other racers to recoup any money spent).
Its a nice idea though just needs working on abit.

just a quick question? why are you using CF if your not using it for the looks ie.nice and shiney. I ask that because surely fibreglass would be better in this situation. cheaper and you can paint it black(its nearly as stong and light i think).

it was a way for me to practice w/o having to scrap my practice pieces. plus i like the look of it, even though it’s not soo glossy. the pieces look really nice in person, some guy at a local track offered 500 for the sides and fenders, but i didn’t want to rip some guy off yannoe?

also reason why i wnat to use the originals as a mold is cause the original fairings are too big for the frame anyway, and was always trying to find a way to get them a bit smaller w/o too much work. using the original as the female mold would be a nice solution.

cool youve got my vote then, go for it!!

As for not wanting to rip the bloke off , fairplay to you!! Must be nice to know the offer was there though!
