Fabric cutting in the mold?

Very good gentlemen, so the sticker backing or whatever it is you decided too use will actually get incorporated into the finished product between the layers? I assume that is what you guys were talking aobut potential delamination in earlier posts. I’m impressed! I can’t wait to get actively involved in composites. I am saving it till next summer.

My masterpiece project is probably going to be a set of fairings for the RC51 made from Carbon and Texalium, Mostly texalium and the black honda wings out of carbon. So this technique you guys have nailed down here will work out great!

fz1gtp, thanks, twins have quite a different sound. Are you running anything for a pipe on yours? I used to have a D&D on my zx6r and it screamed like a Formula 1 race car!

hey not to throw this subject off, but i was watching a video and the guy had a HUGE car hood. well the fabric was only 50". he had a white looking tape on the edges left and right, and all he did was lay another carbon piece of this!? did remove the tape??? … what kind of tape is this that it will soac up the resin and also be apart of the structure??? i know for sure it CANT be masking tape. or am i wrong?

do you happen to have the video?

not off subject at all, that was the first question in this post (about tape anyway)

The point of using the super 77 or whatever, and waxed paper or plastic wrap ect… (that you guys helped me learn thanks), is that it can be removed after you cut the fabric (a seam, pattern ect.) and have a good cut line, without strands all over so it looks good.

Like the first pic in the post I used tape for the cut line and the part failed in that spot because the tape seperated the layers of fabric in that area and I will be doing 165+ mph on this and I dont want that

its a huge dvd collection =(

is it an instructional how to type set?

yup. i love it =) i wish i could copy it
