Aga’s making parts with casting resin just pullin’ your leg.
seriously, im gonna copy some plastic parts with silicone molds, and i’m thinking of using it there.
silicone molds?? Why not fiberglass-resin molds? How small are these plastic parts your going to copy?
they are the plastics that surround the belt-holes in sparco bucket seats. they cant be copied off something rigid cause they have a way of mating with each other. me and a friend are building a copy off a fiberglass sparco seat, and we’ll be needing these…
patent thief! just kidding man… I want to see the seat before and after you upholster it. Too bad you don’t live close by… I have an upholstery guy who does phenominal work!
i ve got a quote from a local guy, he asked me for 150 euros for two seats, in fabric, same design as the sparcos. if you look at this from a different angle, its not so much worth it as a project, cause lets say it will cost me… 40-50 euros per seat in materials, and another 75 for the upholstery, lets say 140. for around 200-250 i can buy one of these, new. but the fiberglass they use is oh so cheap. full of holes, we ve been filling and sanding for days to make a surface that can be properly molded. but hey, its a mold we would like to have
Shoulda bought Bride seats lol.
The Euro and Dollar change rates so often i never know how to convert them in my head.
but if 150 Euros = $300 then that is a fair deal.
150.00 EUR = 213.510 USD
i have a bride seat on my one car, the other has recaros
Before 1 year I bought one Digital Precision balances of 5kgs.
Now I am doing all the measurements with this and there is not exists any problems with sticky or anything like that.
