I’ll be up till 1:00 or 1:30 EST
Also, I have a limited amount of this stuff. It’s a very stretchy flow media.
Is the slotted side of the core at the infusion side? It should be at the mould side to able a resin flow at the bottom side.
And why did you cut the inner layer? Make sure that there is no bridging, you can use spray adhesive to fix it to the core so that you can be sure there is no bridging.
Degas your resin and infuse an a vacuum of 0.6inHg absolut (20mbar). Use flow media over the whole part and let it end about 1 inch before part lip. Build a brake zone by using 3 inches of peelply between evacuation hose and part. You can also use the MTI hose instead of a brake zone and I can send you a sample, but it will take two weeks to arrive.
Try like I told you and it will work.
The slots go all the way through the core. Think of little tiny rectangles glued to scrim.
I cut the inner layer so it wouldn’t bridge and then ran bias around the perimeter. Was that overkill?
I don’t know about degassing. I’ll have to talk with the manufacturer and then see if I can do it. I might not have the equipment.
I’m not sure I can pull that much vacuum. I know I don’t have the appropriate gauges to tell me for sure.
