When I wet out the carbon, I like to wet out past the end of part by about an inch or two. It is especially important to do this so that you don’t get an over saturated area near your (eop) line/trim line. The only way I am able to cut and trim my parts by hand with a razor blade is because I make sure that I don’t have any thick resin pools lingering around the edge where I’m going to be trying to drag a razor. This lets me make a clean, precise cut. Then I continue this process all the way around until the whole thing is covered in a layer of carbon. After that, I begin to build up coats of clear resin.
The key is about to come in from the reserve list very soon. I have found some new resin additives that I may do some R&D with on that project also.
