Infusion video

I really like the Ce-Sense stuff. Amazing strength, long open window, and green colour, so you can see what you are spraying, and how much. Best of all: It comes with a study by a university, about the ILSS properties of the laminate, with and without glue. Difference is not noticable.

I asked for a similar report at both Airtech and Aerovac, on their glues, but they did not have it…

So what glue is best on a carbon part? I need some that can’t be seen after the part has cured. I looked through the links that where provided. But i didn’t see any info on that.

Any glue that is sprayed LIGHTLY will be invisible.

What problems have you come across with 3m77 and was it down to human error

It seems that compared to other glues, you need more 3M 77 glue, and it has a greater tendency to show and to impair ILSS.

:cool:For a real good infusion video contact Airtech, request

It’s an older video but it’s got all the basics on a large part

That video scared me. So many things they did were not the right way to go about it. However it is good for people who have not done infusion before and want to understand the basic setup.

I forgot all about that video. A few years ago I found the hole thing on the internet. I’ll have to do some digging tonight to try and find it again.

Yup, and I think the same thing about 90% of the other videos and literature on the net.

Oh yes, but that will always be the case. There are many ways to do things, and mostly the end result is OK and the customer is happy. However, there will always be things that can be improved, either with using other materials, or just doing things differently or more precise.

As for materials: There is no supplier that has the full package. In order to serve our customers, we source materials in various places, so we can offer a complete package from which we know it works. The vacuum material suppliers (Airtech, Aerovac) all want us to sell only THEIR material, but we hold them off. I must admit that Airtech has very nice materials, and Aerovac is doing whatever they can to catch up, which leads to other nice products every now and then.

Hello,
my name is Dominik Dierkes an I am the owner of DD-Compound. We made the infusion in the video with the MTI Tube.
We use the PVA because with other mould release agents we had problems in combination with the PU In Mould Coating.
Normaly we spray the PVA so that the surface better, but in the video we did not do that because not all people have the possibility to spray the PVA.
We showed the demoulding without a cut so that you see that the surface is not finished afterwards. In the most videos the part is not directly shown after demoulding. Thats why I used the screw driver, it was the only thing that was next to me I can use without loosing to much time.

The good surface is also a result of using the MTI Tube, because it is air permeable and resin inpermeable. If thepart is completely impregnated the resin can not get out of the mould so that the full ambient pressure works on the part. That why there are no airbubbles or pinholes in the part. You also does not need a resin trap and you can choose a free resin flow because the resin has to go through the hole part. The resin can not get into the MTI hose.

We made Test with spray adhesives. If you do not use too much and take an adhesive that stays on the fibre it does not really matter.

The peel ply can be removed so easy because of the good fibre to volume ratio. We normaly have a fibre to volume ratio between 55 and 60%.

If you have any questions please ask. If you are interested in the MTI hose we can send you a sample.

Kind regards

Dominik

Do you have any distributors in the uk ??

At the moment we do not have any distributors in the UK. If you are interested to buy the MTI Hose you can contact us directly. Our distributor for Germany is HP-Textiles, he also sends materials to the UK.
I just realised that we did not remove the peel ply in the video. We removed the infusion mesh. It was so easy because we used a perforated release film.
The peel ply we use has red stripes but you can not see that in the video. But it is also very easy to remove the peel ply.

No, but we can ship into the UK without any problem. We sell throughout Europe (and beyond)

I think he ment me. You were not able to see my post because my account was not activated.

Possibly. I will contact you later for a sample. Looks good, that MTI hose.

It is :). Test it and you will be enthusiastic.

Yer herman we did get our wires crossed. The comment dissapeard

To bad your on the other side of the world cause I would like to try the MTI tube also.

We can send a sample. And you can also buy it at us. May be you can order together. We are looking for an suplier, but we do not have one at the moment out of Europe.
If you are interested send me a pn with your adress and I will send you a sample.
